Capital District Chapter of NYSARA meeting November 19, 2015

Thirty people attended the Capital District Chapter of the New York State Alliance for Retired Americans workshop. Information was shared on the dangers of the Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal on drug prices and on programs that sustain seniors. Updates on Social Security and Medicare and the solutions to Medicare part B premiums and deductibles and Social Security disability solutions found in the recent budget deal were discussed as well as updates on Epic and retirement security. Special guest speakers included Coleen Gardner from the NYS Comptroller’s office and John Costello, Executive Director of the New York State Alliance for Retired Americans. Also discussed were the chapter’s strategic plan and their progress towards those identified goals.
