New York Health Act (Single Payer) Call in Day June 2, 2017

The NYS Assembly has already passed the New York Health Act. The senate bill S.4840 has not been brought to the floor and is several sponsors short of a majority in the NYS Senate. It is important that we all inform our Senators that the time for this bill is here. With the actions of congress regarding healthcare the protection of New Yorkers is imperative

Calling Your State Senator Look them up here or dial the NYS Senate Switchboard at (518) 455-2800. You will be asked to give your zip code and the operator will connect you to your Senator’s office.

Here is a sample script:

“Hello. My name is ________. I am calling to urge Senator _______ to sponsor the New York Health Act [S4840] this session because healthcare is a human right. With healthcare under attack by Republicans in Congress, Senator ______ can take action to guarantee healthcare for all of us in New York by supporting New York Health.”
If they respond that your Senator is already a sponsor, say THANK YOU and urge them to promote the bill to their Senate colleagues.
