Rally for healthcare: Long Island Chapter in the house at Westbury

January 15, 2017 Several hundred people attended a rally in Westbury to preserve healthcare, inspired by Senator Bernie Sanders and Minority Leader Senator Chuck Schumer’s call to action. Newly elected Representative Tom Suozzi (D-NY 3rd District) and Representative Kathleen Rice (D-NY 4th District) were in attendance as well as NYS Assembly members Charles Levine, Michelle Solages and Tony D’Urso as well as Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos, County Legislator Laura Curran, Hempstead Councilwoman Dorothy Goosby and North Hempstead Town Clerk Wayne Wink. They were joined by NYS Alliance members, members of 1199, planned parenthood and the general public.
