From the NYS AFL-CIO About the Very Important Special Election in CD #3 February 13th

Our work to elect Tom Suozzi in NY 3 is well underway. Tom Suozzi has been endorsed by the AFL-CIO as well as the ARA/NYSARA because of his strong record for labor and his 97% voting record on Senior issues over his tenure in Congress.  This special election is to replace expelled Congressional Representative Santos and is of the utmost importance in protecting Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid and other issues of importance to Seniors.

Thank you to everyone who made the first walk in Long Island last weekend a tremendous success.  Volunteers from IBEW, IUOE, SMART, CWA, UFCW, RWDSU, LIUNA, AFT, SEIU and AFSCME were all on hand to educate their fellow members on the important issues in the district and why Tom Suozzi is the only candidate that will fight for them and their unions and for Seniors.

Labor walks will be occurring each weekend from now through the special election on Feb. 13, and we need you to consider volunteering.  The current schedule is below, and additional dates will be added to our website throughout the campaign.

Members can also sign-up for virtual phone banks here.
In addition, we’re mailing and running targeted digital ads to our members in the district in support of our ground efforts.  As part of that campaign, we are educating them that they now have the ability to vote early by mail.
